Charlottesville Lady Was Former Covington Resident

Eleanor Tyler Reyns of Charlottesville, Virginia, formerly of Covington, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at Hospice House in Charlottesville, Va.

She was born June 6, 1925 in Clifton Forge, a daughter of Roy Cecil Tyler, Sr., and Katherine Woodward Tyler.

Eleanor was a loving wife and mother who loved cooking, reading, working crossword puzzles, shopping and beach trips with her family.

She had a great sense of humor in addition to a kind heart and sweet spirit. She loved and nurtured her children, their friends, her grandchildren and all their pets, too numerous to mention. She truly touched all their lives in so many ways.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Field Tyler and a brother, Roy Cecil Tyler, Jr.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 67 years, Carl Joseph Reyns; two daughters, Anne Reyns Stanley, and husband, Roger of Covington, and Katherine Reyns Kayser and husband, Joe of Charlottesville; as well as four grandchildren: Dr. Reilly R. Kayser of New York, NY, Dillon W. Kayser and wife, Samantha of Washington, DC, Micah F. Kayser of Richmond, Va., and Mason M. Kayser of Charlottesville, Va.

She is also survived by a brother, Daniel Gardiner Tyler and wife, Ernestine of Collinsville, Va., a brother-in-law, Randolph M. Reyns and wife, Patty of Lynchburg, Va., as well as a number of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell T. Urban officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington. Pallbearers will include her grandsons and close family friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Boys' Home, Inc., 306 Boys' Home Road, Covington, Va. 24426.
