Former Hanson Concrete Products Employee Was Army Vetrean, Eagle Coring Owner

Donald Lee (Donnie) Dwier Sr., 67, of Eagle Rock, Virginia, died suddenly on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Donnie was born in Clifton Forge and lived in Eagle Rock all of his life.

He was the son of the late Emmett M. and Mary Ruth Craft Dwier Jr.

Donnie was a field representative for Hanson Concrete Products for many years before recently owning Eagle Coring.

He was a member of the NRA, enjoyed hunting, fishing, UVA football and basketball, Redskins football, NASCAR, and served in The United States Army.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Gay Woodson Dwier; his son, Donald Lee (Amy Wilson) Dwier Jr. of Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Tysone and Dale Dooley of Troutville; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Dooley, Madelyn Marie Dooley, and Ethan Dwier Dooley; brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. and Sandy Dwier of Charlotte, N.C.; and nieces and nephew, Debbie Young, Allison Dwier and Tyler Dwier.

A memorial service honoring Donnie's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Forest Grove Baptist Church, 693 Mount Moriah Road, Eagle Rock, with the Reverend Jerry Marsh officiating.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Eagle Rock Rescue Squad, 14762 Church St., Eagle Rock, VA 24085 or to Buchanan Rescue Squad, 1031 Main St., Buchanan, VA 24066.
