Obituary for Vergie Davis Wines Vergie Davis Wines
Retired Rockbridge County School Teacher Was Glasgow Resident

Vergie Davis Wines, 72, of Glasgow, Virginia, died on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at the Benjamin Borden Healthcare Center in Lexington.

Born on August 12, 1943, in Lexington, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ellis Nathan Davis and Naomi Mae Lineberry Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Lacey Wines; one brother, Ellis Davis; and one sister-in-law, Iris Davis.

Mrs. Wines was a member of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, and was a retired school teacher from the Rockbridge County School System after 30 years of service.

Surviving are one son, Neal Wines and wife, Amber; two brothers, Andrew Davis and wife, Anita, and Morgan Davis and wife, Melanie; two grandchildren, Katy Colley and Kylie Redheffer; one great-grandchild, Amaiyah Fleming; and nieces and nephews, Brandon, Bradley, Katie, Lisa, Andrew, Laura, and Michael.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ken officiating. Burial will follow at Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Vergie to the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church.
