Obituary for Allen Russell Loan, Jr. Allen Russell Loan, Jr.
World War II Veteran Was Former Industrial Rayon, Hercules Employee

Allen Russell Loan, Jr., 92, of 723 North Rockbridge Avenue, Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, September 13, 2015, in the Golden Living Center Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

Mr. Loan was born March 21, 1923, in Millboro, a son of the late Allen R. Loan, Sr. and Carrie Neff Loan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Anne Hoover Loan in 2013, and also by two brothers.

He was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Loan was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon Corporation in Covington and retired in 1988 from the maintenance department of the former Hercules, Corporation.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and James Hight of Roanoke; two grandson, Brian Hight and Kimberly Bennett of Salem, and Timothy and Rosetta Hight of Bedford; six great grandchildren and one brother, John Loan and his wife, Donna, of Covington.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Wright officiating.

The family will receive their friends one hour prior to service time at Arritt Funeral Home.
