Mary Frances Swink Arthur, 87, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at The Mayflower.

Born November 13, 1927 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late James Adam Swink and Helen Kent Montgomery Swink.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Lawerence Arthur; and one step-son, D.L. Arthur, Jr.

Mrs. Arthur retired from Virginia Power after many years of service.

Surviving are two step children, Phyllis Carter, Lawrence Earl Arthur, both of Lynchburg; two brothers, Joseph Henry Swink of Salem, James Edward Swink of Lexington; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Martin Stokes officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in loving memory of Mary to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, VA 24450.
