Ruth Johnson Crawford, age 68, of 725 N. Augusta Ave., Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at her residence.

She was born August 31, 1947 in Clifton Forge to the late Allen and Florence Clark Wilhelm Johnson, Sr.

She was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church.

She was a former clerk for Fridley's Pharmacy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Wilhelm.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Darrell Crawford of Covington; two sons, Shane Crawford of Eagle Rock and Shannon Crawford and wife, Lora of Covington; a sister, Betty Long and husband, Robert of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Burton Wilhelm and wife, Margaret of Rich Patch and Allen Johnson of Glen Wilton; a sister-in-law, Martha Wilhelm of Troutville; two grandchildren, Marley Crawford and Dakota Crawford; three special sisters-in-law whom she grew up with, Donna Arrington of Rich Patch, Tammy Ferris and Emmy Baker, both of Blue Ridge; very special friend, Regina Wolfe; caretaker, Jenny Canterbury; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. from McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, Covington with Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Mountain Regional Hospice, Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
