Obituary for Claude Otha Biggs Claude Otha Biggs
Army Air Corps Veteran Of World War II Dies At Age 94

Claude Otha Biggs, age 94, of 782 McDaniel Drive, Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

He was born September 1, 1921 in Virginia to the late Miles William and Lucinda Redman Biggs.

He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, and was a truck driver for Lonestar Cement Company.

He was a member of Eagle Rock Baptist Church, the Oddfellows of Eagle Rock, the Eagle Rock Ruritan Club and the Eagle Rock Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie Nicely Biggs; a brother, Edward Biggs; and two sisters, Annie Whitmer and Lucille Harlow.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary B. Broughman and husband, Tommy of Eagle Rock; two sons, Ronnie Biggs and wife, Debbie of Eagle Rock and David Biggs of Clifton Forge; a sister, Francis Simpson of Eagle Rock; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Jessee Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Eagle Rock Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home.
