Obituary for Steven William Booze Steven William Booze
Former Kmart Assistant Manager Was Clifton Forge Native

Steven William Booze, 60, of 102 South Lexington Avenue, Virginia, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at his residence.

He was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia on May 6, 1955, a son of the late John Preston Booze and Mary Ellen Kern Booze.

Steven was a retired assistant manager at the Covington K-Mart, working there for over 35 years. He was a hard working employee and a friend to many of the customers he helped.

He was a dedicated husband, dad and brother. Steve loved horses.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joy Whitmore Booze of Covington; a son, Craig Booze and wife, Sara of Portsmouth, Virginia; daughter, Mariellen Booze and fiancee, Tyler Knighton, and their soon to be born child; three sisters, Nancy Simmons and husband, Charles of Iron Gate, Janice Mundy and husband, Donald of South Boston, Virginia and June Tucker of Covington; a brother, John Booze and wife, Laura of Clifton Forge; brother-in-law, John Wayne Patterson of Keyser, West Virginia; 4 sisters-in-law, Irene Booze of Clifton Forge, Janet Brown and Brenda Shaw, both of Covington, and Marilyn Kelley of Lexington; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Aubrey Gene Booze and by three sisters, Peggy Booze Powell, Barry Booze Canode and Robbie Booze Patterson.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Booze, Kevin Booze, John Simmons, Charlie Simmons, Butch Brown and Robert Kelley.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. Friends may call any time at the residence. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422 or to Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, P. O.
