Obituary for Florentine Taylor (Flo) Entsminger Florentine Taylor (Flo) Entsminger
Former Leggett Sales Clerk Also Worked With Alleghany County Clerk's Office

Mrs. Florentine Taylor (Flo) Entsminger, age 87, of Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany.

She was the wife of the late C.J. Entsminger, Sr.

Mrs. Entsminger was born February 22, 1928 in Covington, the daughter of the late William A. Taylor and Nina G. Taylor.

During her working career, she was employed as a sales clerk by the former Leggett's Department Store, before working in the Alleghany County clerk's office.

Mrs. Entsminger was a member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church. Flo was also a member of Alleghany Genealogical Society.

Mrs. Entsminger is survived by her son, C.J. Entsminger, Jr. and wife, Alma of Covington; two daughters, Susan Irby of Covington and Pat Phillips of Roanoke; a grandson, Eddie Joe Entsminger and girlfriend, Amanda Tucker; a granddaughter, Nicole E. Shifflett and husband, Justin; four step grandchildren, Wayne Irby, Dale Phillips, Rex Phillips and Jeff Phillips; five great grandchildren, Addyson Neff, Alyssa Shifflett, Alexa Shifflett, Addalynn Entsminger and Zach Irby; and special friend, Inna Henderson.

In addition to her parents, William A. and Nina G. Taylor and husband, C.J. Entsminger, Sr., Mrs. Entsminger was preceded in death by two brothers, William Taylor and Sylvester Taylor.

A funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m.. Friday, November 6, 2015, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Urban officiating, assisted by Rev. Doug Hollenbeck. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times at Flo's residence, 111 S. Marion Street, Covington.

Pallbearers were be Eddie Joe Entsminger, Justin Shifflett, Jeff Falls, Nicole Shifflett, Kevin Nicely, Craig Madison, and Larry McCallister. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Morgan and Tim Posey. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The Alleghany Highlands Genealogical Society, 515 E. Pine Street, Covington, VA 24426.
