Obituary for Barbara Jean Allen Barbara Jean Allen
Covington Native Was First Church Of God In Christ Church Member

Barbara Jean Allen, 74, of 1043 S. Johnson Ave., Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

She was born October 6, 1941 in Covington, a daughter of the late James Eugene and Gladys Graves Allen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Coco Allen; a grandson, Nae Shaw Jefferson; three brothers, Ronald Allen, Donald Allen and Winston Allen, and a sister, Linda Wyatt.

Ms. Allen was a member of the First Church of God in Christ in White Sulphur Springs, WV. She was a member of the Usher committee as well as the Pastor Aide Committee and the Hostility Committee.

Surviving are her daughter, Angela "Nadine" Allen of Clifton Forge; four sons, Michael Allen, Sr.; Pastor Randall "Tobey" W. Allen and his wife, Trina; Kevin "Kippy" Allen and Kenneth Allen and his wife, Buffy, all of Covington; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a nephew, Rodger Wyatt, who was raised in the home; a brother-in-law, Climmie Wyatt of Phoenix City, Al and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Allen of Covington.

The funeral service will be held Saturday January 16. 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ with the Pastor Randall W. Allen officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 15, 2016 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home.
