Josephine Agnes Rock (Joe) Jones, 93, of 218 E. Main Street, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, January 15, 2016, at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Low Moor.

Mrs. Jones was born February 17, 1922, at Oriskany in Craig County, a daughter of the late Effie Rock.

She retired from the former Halmode Sewing Plant in Covington.

She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the Choir and the Ladies Circle and was the treasurer of her Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Hammett P. Jones in 1966 and also by a grandson, Peter Campbell, and 12 sisters and brothers.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby Campbell and her husband, Melvin, of Lynchburg, Claudia Wolfe of Stuarts Draft and Joy Slaughter and her husband, Dave, of Tampa, FL; two sons, Gerald Jones and his wife, Deanne, of Clifton Forge and Julian "Mickey" Jones and his wife, Wanda of Raleigh, NC; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Snider officiating assisted by the Rev. Melvin Campbell. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
