Obituary for Arnold William Hoke Arnold William Hoke
West Virginia Native Was C. F. Presbyterian Church Member, Army Veteran, VEPCO Retiree

Arnold William Hoke, age 89, of 1213 Ingalls Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born September 27, 1926 in Caldwell, West Virginia, to the late Cecil Raymond and Nellie Burdette Hoke.

He served in the United States Army and was a retired garage foreman for V.E.P.C.O.

He was a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, and also a member of Griffith Knob Hunt Club for over 55 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Garland Hoke; four brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by three children, Patricia Hoover and husband, James, Gary W. Hoke and wife, Michelle, and Ronnie Hoke and wife, Cissy, all of Covington; three sisters, Betty Sheppard of Christiansburg, Thelma Morgan of Ronceverte, WV and Norma Jean Buckland of Chicago; a brother, James Hoke of Ronceverte, WV; seven grandchildren, Phillip Hoover, Greg Hoover, G. W. Hoke, Josh Hoke, Laura Hoke, Andy Hoke and Vanna Hoke; ten great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Bishop Joey Sheppard and Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating.

Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Mr. Hoke's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
