Ms. Carmen Gilbert Madison, age 63, of Covington, Virginia, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at her residence.

Ms. Madison was born February 29, 1952 in Covington, the daughter of the late Frank Gilbert, Jr. and Alma Wade Gilbert.

During her working career, she was employed as a housekeeper by the Homestead.

Ms. Madison is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Carper Hiner and husband, Brian of Covington; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Hiner and Joshua Hiner; and one sister, Sharon C. Hawkins of Covington.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or the Alleghany Humane Society, P. O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
