Alleghany County Native Was Former Mizzy Machinist

Phyllis Frances Persinger Grimm, age 87, of 305 Second Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

She was born January 24, 1929 in Alleghany County to the late William and Loraine Smith Persinger.

She was a machinist for Mizzy, Inc. and a member of Central Advent Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Persinger and James Persinger; a sister, Margaret Syphrett; and a grandson, Michael Patterson.

She is survived by her husband, Everette "Buck" Grimm of Clifton Forge; two daughters, Juanita Savage and Diane Hinkle, and three sons, Jessie Patterson, William Patterson, and Roy David Patterson, all of Clifton Forge; a sister, Hortense Putnam of Clifton Forge; seven grandchildren, Patricia Savage, Tammy Huffman, Misty Stranger-Thorsen, Stephanie Patterson, Dean Patterson, Shey Ranspell, and Sara Watson; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling the arrangements.
