Obituary for Maynard Randolph Reynolds Maynard Randolph Reynolds
Longtime Rockbridge County Supervisor Was Korean War Veteran, Gulf Station Owner In Glasgow

Maynard Randolph Reynolds, 85, of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born September 24, 1930 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Claude Virgil Reynolds and Dorothy Randolph McCullough.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Powell and Linda Fainter.

Mr. Reynolds proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War with the 804 Engineer Aviation Battalion, and then served in the Army reserves for another eight years.

Maynard was a member and a Deacon of the Glasgow Baptist Church.

He served on the Board of Supervisors in the Natural Bridge District for thirty-five years, and was the owner and operator of Reynolds Gulf Station in Glasgow for thirty five years as well.

Maynard was also a member of the Ruritan Club and AARP.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Virginia Hensley Reynolds; one daughter, Janice Elaine Reynolds Downey and husband, Charles; one son, Kelly Randolph Reynolds and wife, Susan; three sisters, Laura Powell, Marjorie Beard, Faye Sorrels and husband, Sheldon; one grandchild, Kelley McFaddin Swink and husband, Todd; two great grandchildren, Kenna Swink, Hailey Swink; two step grandchildren, Michelle Campbell and husband, Donnie, Heather Overstreet and husband, Brian; five step great grandchildren, Miles Overstreet, Jake Overstreet, Elly Overstreet, Addy Overstreet, River Campbell; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Glasgow Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Kilgore and the Rev. William M. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in loving memory of Maynard to the Glasgow Baptist Church, 805 10th Street, Glasgow, Va. 24555.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
