Obituary for James Roger Staton James Roger Staton
Glasgow Resident Dies At Age 71

James Roger Staton, 71, of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his home.

Born in Amherst County on May 16, 1944, he was a son of the late Maxwell and Nannie White Staton.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, M. P. Staton; and sisters, Lorena Hamm and Arlene Fox.

Roger was a member of the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church.

He retired from Greif Corp with 29 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Pamela Patterson Staton; daughter and son-in-law, Cara and Clint Eutsler; son and daughter-in-law, Jamey and Monica Staton; two grandchildren, Cierra Staton and Colton Staton; sisters, Thelma Smith, Shirley Reid (Ronnie), Delores Roberts (Travis); brothers, Vernon Staton, William Staton (Darlene) and W. K. Staton; and special nephew, Ricky Fox; and mother-in-law Martha K. Patterson.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Glasgow Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Volpe officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Funeral Home.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, Virginia.
