Iva J. (Sally) Irvine, 87, of Salem, Virginia, and formerly of Lexington, Va., went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman W. Irvine; and her daughter, Janet Irvine Van Ness.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis I. Edwards of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Davey) Nimmo, Melissa (Derik) Barr, Jonathan (Casey) Edwards, Kendall Edwards, Courtney Van Ness, Gordon Van Ness IV and Ian Van Ness; her great-grandchildren, Joshua Barr, Hannah Nimmo, Faith Nimmo, Trey Brookman, Tyler Carr, Payton Edwards and Aiden Edwards.

She was a founding member of Lexington Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Oakey's North Chapel with a visitation one hour prior. A private burial will be held at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington, Va., at a later date.
