Former Security Guard Also Worked With Hercules, The Homestead
Mr. David Wayne Jones, age 66, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Centra Specialty Hospital, Lynchburg.
Mr. Jones was born September 25, 1949 in Covington, the son of the late Norma Smith Morton.
He was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1969.
David was employed as a security guard with New Haven-Connecticut Transit for twenty-five years and was a former employee of Hercules, Inc and the Homestead.
Mr. Jones is survived by one brother, Walton H. Morton of Bellsville, IL; two sisters, Nancy Morton Stover of Salem and Susan Morton Wertz of Thaxton; and four nieces and two nephews.
In addition to his mother, Norma Smith Morton, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by one brother, James S. Morton and special grandmother, Radie Smith, with whom he made his home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
