Former ARH Housekeeping Supervisor Was West Virginia Native

Josephine Pogue Leisure Wallace, age 85, of 901 Main Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, April 11, 2016 at her residence.

She was born April 23, 1930 in Glen White, West Virginia, to the late Roy Lee Pogue, Sr. and Lorine Bennett Pogue Cooper.

She was a Housekeeping Supervisor for Alleghany Regional Hospital and a member of First Church of God in Christ, Clifton Forge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Shuler Cooper; her first husband, William H. Leisure and her second husband, Essery Wallace; a son, Ronald Leisure; a daughter, Rhonda Godfrey; and a foster son, Timothy Washington.

She is survived by four daughters, Pinkie McNeill, Drucilla Givens, Billiejo Halsey and husband David, and Terri Leisure, all of Clifton Forge; two sons, William S. Leisure and wife, Sherry of Cincinnati, OH, and Mark A. Leisure and wife, Denise of Richmond; four sisters, Gloria Cooper of Beaver, WV, Drema Waldon of Landover, MD, Brenda Wally of Beckley, WV, and Delores Hubbard of McDonough, GA; four brothers, Victor Cooper of Tucker, GA, Gregory Cooper of Lester, WV, Clarence Cooper of Toledo, OH, and Roger Cooper of Lester, WV; seventeen grandchildren, Eddie Wallace, Michael Leisure, Eric Leisure, Tunja (Kevin) Lewis, Ronelle Leisure, Brent Godfrey, Ca'Mesha Leisure, Ned McNeill III, Tomeka Nicholas, Terrell Givens, Deonte' Dutch, Mark Leisure II, Marcus Leisure, David Halsey, Jr., Damonique Leisure, Teonna Godfrey, and Jaquin Godfrey; a host of nieces and nephews; a goddaughter, Kim Lewis; a godson, Timothy Cooper; and a foster son, Anthony Washington.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Clifton Forge, with Reverend David Halsey officiating and the eulogy delivered by Elder Leon Taylor. Interment will follow in Red Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be T. L. Dickerson, Reverend Cornelius Ray, Carlton Cooper, Charles Anderson, Roy C. Byrd, and Jimmy Wall.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at First Baptist Church. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge in handling arrangements.
