Obituary for Nora Kay Sponaugle Taylor Nora Kay Sponaugle Taylor
Covington Church Of Christ Member Was Former Bank Teller, Worked With Rose's Taxes

Nora Kay Sponaugle Taylor, age 68, of 3919 Forty-Two Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, April 11, 2016 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

She was born November 7, 1947 in Montgomery, West Virginia, to the late Jack and Pearl Rollins Sponaugle.

She was a homemaker, and worked part time at Rose's Taxes and as a teller at SonaBank.

She was a member of the Covington Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and babysitting her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Sponaugle.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse Harmon Taylor of Clifton Forge; three daughters, Pamela Brown and husband, Eugene of Clifton Forge, Debra Martin and husband, Jody of Bedford, and Patricia Taylor of Santee, CA; a sister, Hilda Kinzer and husband, Dennis of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Seth Brown, Jacob Martin, and Jaimie Martin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of online donations to the Relay for Life, Alleghany County Christians for a Cure, Team Captain - Pam Blevins, or monetary contributions in her honor to Covington Church of Christ, 1643 S. Carpenter Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
