Jerry Randolph (Randy) Nicely, Jr., age 49, of 1020 Selma Boulevard, Staunton, Virginia, and formerly of Covington, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in Staunton.

Randy was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia, on July 16, 1966, the beloved son of Jerry Randolph Nicely, Sr. and Sandy Simpson Nicely.

Prior to beginning college, he served a year in the United States Army Reserve, then began his studies at Radford University, entering its R.O.T.C. program, and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice and Business.

He was employed as a machine operator for Nibco, and was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Nicely.

In addition to his parents, Jerry and Sandy Nicely of Covington, Randy is survived by a brother, Troy Nicely and wife, Stephanie of Dublin; a niece, Alexa Nicely; a nephew, Trey Nicely; a step-niece, Madison Craft; a step-nephew, Stephen Craft; his fiancee, Theresa Porter of Staunton; and numerous other family members and friends.

A private graveside funeral service will be held for the immediate family in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Eagle Rock.
