Grace Brethren Church Member Was Former ARH Accounts Manager

Jewel (Judy) McDermott Davis, age 89, of 3203 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her residence.

She was born September 29, 1926 in Neola, West Virginia, to the late Hugh Oswald and Sarah Mae "Sadie" Vess McDermott.

She was an accounts manager for Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She attended Grace Brethren Church in Covington, and dearly loved the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Edgar Davis, Jr. of Clifton Forge; four daughters, Judith Lynn Jones and husband, Eddie of Clifton Forge, Donna Dee Delong and husband, Ed of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Andrea Renee Murry and husband, Dan of Troutville, and Cherie Suzanne Allen and husband, Ray of Clifton Forge; thirteen grandchildren, Landon Ray Allen and wife, Tabatha, Jana Cherie Bahrns and husband, Doug, Amber Suzanne Dean and husband, Dwayne, Anmarie Rosalie Herald and husband, Scott, Kyle Clayton Jones and wife, Shannon, Clay Patrick Jones and wife, Sarah, Weston Trey Jones, Anthony Stephen Neville, Stephanie Paige Cowan and husband, Blaine, Sarah Lynn Neville, Olivia Jewel Anne Murry, Jadyn Annalee Murry, and Emily Anneliesse Murry; five great grandchildren, Bailey Neville, Uriah Dean, Sophia Allen, Eden Dean, and Gracyn Chandler; and special friends and caregivers, Brenda Lindsay and Diane Kouns, as well as the entire Mountain Regional Hospice staff.

The family would like to give a very special "thank you" to Chaplain Bill Gilliland.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Dan Gillette officiating. A private interment took place in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Weston Jones, Kyle Jones, Clay Jones, Dwayne Dean, Landon Allen, Scott Herald and Doug Bahrns.

The family received friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
