Benjamin Ulysses Cobbs, 69 of 516 Pine Street, Covington, Virginia, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence.

He was born October 17, 1946 in Covington, a son of the late George H. Cobb, Sr. and Clara Barber Cobbs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two brothers, George Cobbs and John Thomas Cobbs.

Mr. Cobbs was a former night manager at Walmart.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and he loved to sing with several area church choirs.

Surviving are three brothers, Donnell Cobbs of Covington; Darius Cobbs of Lithonia, GA and Samuel Cobbs and his wife, Beatrice of Stone Mountain, GA; two sisters, Ola Wight and her husband, James of Linden, NJ and Zella Smith and her husband, James of Lithonia, GA and several nieces and nephews.

I keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

The memorial service will be held Saturday April 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Cannon officiating.
