Obituary for Lorene Logan Weeks Lorene Logan Weeks
New Monmouth Presbyterian Church Member Was Effinger Fire Department Volunteer

Lorene Logan Weeks, 85, of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia, died Friday, April 22, 2016, at Kendal at Lexington.

Born February 17, 1931, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late William Andrew Penick Logan Sr. and Eva Lois Pultz Logan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Howard Preston (H.P.) Weeks; sister, Vera Logan Muterspaw; infant brother, William Joseph Logan; and niece, Teresa Muterspaw Ayers.

Lorene was a member of New Monmouth Presbyterian Church for 73 years and had worked for J. J. Newberry's in Lexington prior to becoming a wife, stay-at-home mom and part-time farmer.

She also volunteered at Effinger Volunteer Fire Department as one of J. D.'s Angels to peel apples for applebutter making.

Surviving are children, Larry Weeks and wife, Judy, Loretta Persinger and husband, George, Janet Irvine and husband, Ellis; three grandchildren, Carrah Weeks Wood, Aaron Weeks, and Jonathan Irvine; two great-grandchildren, Adrian Floyd and Arvis Weeks; two stepgrandchildren, Tracie Wright and Katie Rowland; one stepgreat-grandchild, Allison Keen; brother, William Andrew Penick "Cedric" Logan Jr. ; and special nephew, Tony Lee Muterspaw.

A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Carl Pattison and Dr. Martin Stokes officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Monmouth Presbyterian Church, Effinger Volunteer Fire Department, or a charity of your choice.
