Longtime Covington National Bank Employee Was Gap Mills Native

Barbara Gail Porterfield Crosier, 70, of Covington, Virginia, passed away on Mother_s Day, Sunday May 8, 2016, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

She was born October 11, 1945 at Gap Mills, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Grover and Ethel Clarkson Porterfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her younger sister, Judy Magrum.

Gail graduated from Gap Mills High School in 1963.

She began her employment with the Covington National Bank and continued working with the bank for 31 years until her retirement in 2008.

Left to cherish her memory is her only child, Tony R. Crosier and friend, Sylvia Moorman of Covington; four sisters, Margaret Carter and husband, Paul of Sweet Springs, WV; Peggy Cook of Manassas; Carol Webb of Newport News and Betty Jean Flanagan and husband, Charles of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, her twin brother, Grover Dale Porterfield and wife, Shelby of Hemititte and Jim Porterfield and wife, Sue of Crows; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews whom she loved very much.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Clarkson officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Arritt Funeral Home from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Interment will be made in the Carmel Cemetery, Gap Mills, West Virginia.
