Mary Gladys Anderson Haynes, age 93, of 4502 McKinney Hollow Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, May 13, 2016 at The Woodlands Nursing Home.
She was born July 27, 1922 in Clifton Forge, to the late Frank Martin Anderson and Mary Faye Fisher Anderson.
She served in the United States Navy Waves during World War II, and was a retired grocery clerk for Harless Grocery of Clifton Forge.
She attended Sharon Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Haynes; a daughter, Lisa Fay Haynes; two sisters, Della Patterson and Virginia Mays; and four brothers, Graham Anderson, Floyd Anderson, Frank Anderson, and Carl Anderson.
She is survived by a brother, Earl Anderson and wife, Marion of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Anderson of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.
A graveside memorial service will take place a later date in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.
The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements.
