Edna Lee Garrett, 86, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born April 4, 1930, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Edward Mascott Hamilton and Dora Wood Hamilton Garrett.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Artie Hamilton; and sisters, Indy Dora Painter, Myrtle Chittum, and Carrie Falls.

Surviving are her children, Deborah Lee Hartless and husband, William, Bobby Randall Garrett and wife, Sharon, Nettie Lee Garrett, all of Buena Vista; Anna Frances of Shepard, N.C., Elmer Roberts, Fla., and John Hamilton, Salem; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Hamilton Shafer.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
