Obituary for Malcom Edward Cadd Malcom Edward Cadd
U. S. Air Force Veteran Was Former Hercules, Honeywell Employee

Malcom Edward Cadd, 82, of 1206 East Dolly Ann Drive, Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor.

Mr. Cadd was born December 12, 1933, in Covington, a son of the late Walter and Ida Blankenship Cadd.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Moats Cadd in 2013, and also by infant twin sisters.

He retired from the U.S Air Force in 1972 as a Staff Sergeant First Class.

He was a former machine operator with Hercules, Inc. and retired from Honeywell International, Inc. at Hopewell.

Malcom was a longtime member of the Curtis A. Smith Post #1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Kenny Gunter of Covington and Pam and Joe Snead of Clayton, NC; one brother and sister-in-law, Elwood and Geraldine Cadd, of Covington; six grandchildren, Tonja Mitchell of Clifton Forge, Crystal and Bobby Griffith of Covington, Angel and Lee Williams and Christopher Snead, all of Clayton, NC, and Andrea and Travis Fridley of Garner, NC; six great grandchildren, Devin Terry, Haley Terry, Dalton Griffith, Brycen Griffith, McKenzie Williams, Levi Fridley and Madelyn Fridley; one great great granddaughter, Taislee Linderman; his sister-in-law, Shelby Goode of Covington, and several nieces and nephews, including Debbie Morrison and her husband, Charley, of Iron Gate.

The funeral service was held Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral home with the Rev. Mike Warren officiating.

Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park with graveside rites conducted by Curtis A. Smith Post # 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Active pallbearers were Bobby Griffith, Travis Fridley, Lee Williams, Christopher Snead, Devin Terry and Steven "PeeWee" Ratliff.

The family received their friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home
