Homestead Bellman Dies At Age 44

James Lewis Gibson, 44, known as Jamie to family and friends, of Hot Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial in Roanoke.

He was born August 10, 1971 in Summitt County, Ohio, a son of Pat and Luke Gibson of Covington.

Jamie was preceded in by his paternal grandparents, Gladys and Jim Gibson and maternal grandparents, Alice and Orvil Hoskinson.

He was employed by the Omini Homestead Resort in Hot Springs as a bellman.

Jamie was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Nicholas Gibson of Hurley; one brother, Ashley Gibson and his wife, Nora of Burnsville; two sisters, Amanda Underwood and her husband, Mitch of Covington and Abby and her husband, Chris of Covington; six nieces, Samantha Gibson; Krissy Shifflett and her husband, Kory; Rachael Gibson; Savanna Underwood; Avery Underwood and Jordan Sizemore; one nephew, Grayson Sizemore.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated following the visiting.

Memorial donations in Jamie's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1700 Maccorkle Ave., SE 3 Floor, Charleston, WV 25314.
