Well-Known Former Buena Vista Tire Dealer Dies At Age 78

Charles Walker Widdifield, 78, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at his residence.

Born January 29, 1938, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Percy Herbert Widdifield and Nellie Bradner Widdifield.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Cora Lee Ogden.

Mr. Widdifield was a member of the First Brethren Church, Buena Vista.

He owned and operated Widdifield's Tire Shop.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Nadine Staton Widdifield; daughters, Kelly W. Hamilton and husband, Mike, Tammy Robinette and husband, Wade, and Missy Arthur and husband, David; grandchildren, Erika Gantert, Lauren Robinette, Lucas Arthur, Austin and Spencer Hamilton; four great-grandchildren: Cameron, Conner, and Carson Gantert, and Jameson Martin; brothers, Herbert Widdifield Jr. and John H. Widdifield; sisters, Nyoka W. Mays and Martha W. Fitzgerald.

A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike Hamilton and Pastor Katherine Widdifield officiating.

The family will receive friends any time at the home, 16 Wintercrest Lane, Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charles Widdifield's name may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice or First Brethren Church, Buena Vista.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, Va.
