Alleghany County Native Was Longtime Faith Baptist Church Member

Wanda Uyvonne Craft Dunford, 78, formally of 3811 Blue Spring Run Road, Covington, Virginia, passed away peacefully Friday July 15, 2016 to be with her heavenly father.

She was born February 10, 1938 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late Henry Craft and Pansy Lee Humphries Craft.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church for 37 years, where she loved singing in the church choir.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Giles Frederick Dunford in November of 2014; a sister, Rosalee Bristow, and a great granddaughter, Eden Johnston.

She is survived by four daughters: Gail Forren and husband, Wayne, Debbie Brumfield, Cindy Reid and husband, Hank, all of Covington; Sherry Hosey and husband, Tim, of Pennsylvania, a brother; Henry Ernest "Sonny" Craft, of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren; Shannon Johnston and husband, Josh, T. J. Hosey, Jr., Stacy Anderson and husband, Steven, Amber McNown and husband, Patrick, Tiffany Smith and husband, Brian; nine great-grandchildren: Aiden Raether, Braylon Johnston, Izzy Hosey, Addy Hosey, Karson Anderson, Kohen Anderson, Aria McNown, Adalyn Smith, and Payson Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Faith Baptist Church in Covington with the Reverend Bill Price and associate pastor Reverend Jeff Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Faith Baptist Church.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
