George Guy Puffenbarger, 77, of Low Moor, Virginia, died Friday, July 15, 2016 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 13, 1939 in Highland County, the son of the late Thornton G. Puffenbarger and Bessie Lambert Puffenbarger.

In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by two sisters, Dolly Andrews and Mary Andrews, and three brothers Clifford Puffenbarger, Robert Puffenbarger, and George Puffenbarger.

Surviving are his niece, Michelle Hylton and husband, John of Low Moor, with whom he made his home. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Wayne Andrews of Clifton Forge, a sister-in-law, Shirley Puffenbarger of Covington, and a number nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd Lynn officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
