Obituary for Clay Wesley Puffenbarger, Sr. Clay Wesley Puffenbarger, Sr.
West Virginia Native Was Former Hercules Employee

Mr. Clay Wesley Puffenbarger, Sr., age 88, of Clintonville, WV, died Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Hospice of Southern West Virginia, Beckley, WV.

He was the husband of the late Kring Wolfe Puffenbarger.

Mr. Puffenbarger was born April 16, 1928 in West Virginia, the son of the late Isaac Clay Puffenbarger and Lou Ella Eckard Puffenbarger.

He was employed in the BCF Department by Hercules for twenty-seven years.

Clay was a member of Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he was a former deacon, served as a COPE representative and was a member of the Men's Bible Class.

Mr. Puffenbarger is survived by a son, Clay Wesley Puffenbarger, Jr. and wife, Dorothy; two grandsons, Jack Zickfoose and John Zickfoose; two granddaughters, Jean Zickfoose Rudd and Judy Zickfoose Morgan; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Betty; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Kring Wolfe Puffenbarger, Mr. Puffenbarger was preceded in death by a brother. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from noon until service time at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2306 S. Church Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
