Obituary for Steven Norman Nicely Steven Norman Nicely
Retired Thor Superintendent Of Construction Dies At Age 65

Steven Norman Nicely, age 65, of 3322 Longdale Station Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at his residence.

He was born October 25, 1950 in Alleghany County, Virginia to Virginia Layne Nicely and the late Theodore Wilson Nicely, Sr.

He was a retired Superintendent of Construction for Thor, Inc. For 42 years, he was dedicated to the company as well as its employees.

He was a member of Central Advent Christian Church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Sylvia Nicely Warren and a sister-in-law, Cherry Lynn Wrenn Conner.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue Wrenn Nicely of Clifton Forge; his mother, Virginia Nicely of Clifton Forge; a son, Steven N. Nicely, Jr. and wife, Mari of Clifton Forge; a brother, Theodore Wilson Nicely, Jr. and wife of Clifton Forge; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn Mays and husband, Malcolm of Leesburg, Jeannie Williams of Aynor, SC, and Barbara Wrenn of Fincastle; two brothers-in-law, Mike Wrenn of Fincastle and Delmas Conner of Clifton Forge; a granddaughter, "Paw Paw’s Angel", Marlie Frances Nicely; and a number of nieces and nephews, and his "Special Pup Companions".

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Virgil Woodie officiating. Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
