Former Clifton Forge Police Department Employee Also Worked As Security Guard

Byron Caesar (Tuffy) Smith, Jr., age 67, of 1012 Rose Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born March 19, 1949 in Lexington, Virginia to the late Byron Caesar Smith, Sr. and Sylvia Scott Smith.

He was a retired from the Clifton Forge Police Department and a wasformer security guard for Tandy Corporation in Fort Worth, TX.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Clifton Forge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson and daughter-in-law.

He is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Chandler of Wataugha, TX and Crystal Garlock of Lake Worth, TX; three sons, Carl W. Smith, Sr. of Fort Worth, TX, Kenneth Smith and wife, Melinda of Dallax, TX, and Christopher Smith of Fort Worth, TX; a sister, Deborah Caesar of Sterling; eleven grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Rosa Waddy-Smith of Clifton Forge.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Roslyn Thomas officiating.
