Obituary for Hazel Stogdale Worley Hazel Stogdale Worley
Alleghany County Native Worked With Leggett Department Store For 24 Years

Mrs. Hazel Stogdale Worley, age 92, of Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Golden Living Center-Alleghany, Clifton Forge.

She was the wife of the late John James Worley, who preceded her in death in 1984.

Mrs. Worley was born September 7, 1923 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Dorsey K. Stogdale and Gladys Riddle Stogdale.

She was employed as a clerk by Leggetts Department Store for twenty-four years.

Mrs. Worley was of the Methodist faith.

She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Worley is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Smith and husband, Roscoe of Covington; a son, John Wayne Worley and wife, Bonnie of Edmond, OK; a special daughter, Leigh of Verona; six grandchildren, Mike Smith and wife, Amy, Jamey Smith and wife, Debbie, Chris Worley and wife, Doris, Ben Worley and wife, Emily, Jon Worley and Daniel Worley; six great grandchildren, Harrison Smith, Jordan Michaela Smith, Kristy Lipes and husband, Glen, Hannah Worley, Nicholas Worley and Samantha Worley; great-great grandchildren, Jackson Lipes and Colton Lipes; a sister, Lena Stogdale VanBuren of Lawton, OK; a niece, Tammy Keiffer and husband, Larry; and a nephew, Terry VanBuren and wife, Loretta, along with several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorsey K. Stogdale and Gladys Riddle Stogdale and her husband, John James Worley, Mrs. Worley was preceded in death by two brothers, Dorsey K. Stogdale, Jr. and George William Stogdale.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. J.B. Broughman officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Alfred, Bobby Rice, Larry Whitmore, Gary Warlitner, Harvey VanBuren and Tommy VanBuren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Loving Funeral Home.
