Bobby Joe (B.J.) Dawson, Jr., age 55, of Covington, Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Golden Living Center, Clifton Forge.

Mr. Dawson was born March 10, 1961 in Covington, a son of Bobby Joe Dawson, Sr. and the late Marlene Jones Dawson.

He was formerly employed at Grand Piano and Tri-County Furniture, where he worked in furniture delivery.

Mr. Dawson was also a former member of the Covington Moose Lodge and formerly volunteered on the Covington Fire Department.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Dawson was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his father, Mr. Dawson is survived by his son, Bobby Joe Dawson III and wife, Missy; three daughters, Kristie Kimberlin and husband, Chuck, Charlene Dawson Sass, and Hannah Jefferies and husband, Alan; three grandchildren, Abigale Dawson, Autumn Sass, and Logan Kimberlin; two brothers, Randall Wayne Dawson and Roger Allen Dawson and wife, Janet; two sisters, Michelle Lynn Kimberlin and husband, Will, and Leisa Dawson Kimberlin and husband, Norman; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend of the family, Lonnie "Bubby" Givens.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by a brother, Fabian Dawson, and a sister, Tammy Dawson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby J. Dawson III, Randall W. Dawson, Norman Kimberlin, Lonnie "Bubby" Givens, Mike Lilly, and Tony Crosier. Alternate pallbearers will be Perry Robinson, Kippy Allen, Zach Humphries, and Nathan Kimberlin.

The family will receive immediate friends and family Sunday at 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.
