Obituary for Donald Lee (Donnie) Layton Donald Lee (Donnie) Layton
Botetourt County Resident Was Mechanic Operator, Glen Wilton Fire Department Member

Donald Lee (Donnie) Layton, age 52, of 709 Fieldale Road, Glen Wilton, Eagle Rock, Virginia and formerly of Millboro, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

Donnie was born May 10, 1964 in Clifton Forge.

He was a mechanic operator for Gilliam and Mundy Drilling Company in Buchanan, and had worked for Rockbridge Stone for many years. He was a hard worker and a member of Glen Wilton Fire Department.

He is survived by his mother, Agnes Layton Morris of Harrisonburg; his fiancee, Tonya Wills Frazier of Clifton Forge; a son, Logan Layton of Clifton Forge; four step children, Jason Frazier, James Frazier, Austin Frazier, and Samantha Frazier; a half-brother, Steven Morris of Harrisonburg; two aunts; one uncle; a number of cousins; and a special friend, Sue Wills of Iron Gate.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating.

Interment will follow in Millboro Christian Cemetery, Millboro.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Keyser, Tim Galford, Danny Little, Chris Keyser, Rocky Washburn, Tommy Mundy, Jimmy Coffee, and Mike Warren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Timmy Keyser, Jason Frazier, James Frazier, Justin Dobbs, and Logan Layton.

Following the interment, there will be a reception held at the Glen Wilton Fire House. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Tonya Frazier, 506 Wintergreen Ave, Clifton Forge.
