Obituary for Eugenia Lee Van Buren Nicely Eugenia Lee Van Buren Nicely
Former Local Hospital Supervisor Of Records Dies At Age 68

Eugenia Lee Van Buren Nicely, 68, of Eagle Rock, Virginia passed away Sept. 23, 2016 at Carillon Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born June 6, 1948 to the late Robert Lee Van Buren and wife, Martha Lawler, 'Genie' was Alleghany Regional Hospital's supervisor of medical records for over 35 years before retiring and continued on at the hospital as a volunteer.

While also a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and the Anata Guild, Genie enjoyed most of her free time spent with the Moss in the Highlands Chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society.

In addition to her parents Eugenia was proceeded in death by her husband, Bernard William 'Pete' Nicely Jr, as well as her step-father, William Pete Dodd.

She is survived by her son, Travis L. Nicely (Eagle Rock); her sister, Anita V. Boone and husband, Rob (Covington); her brother, Michael R. Van Buren Sr. (Williamsburg); two brothers in law, Gary Nicely & wife Teresa (Eagle Rock), Mark Nicely and wife, Julie (Clifton Forge); three nephews, Israel Boone, Joshua Van Buren and Michael Van Buren Jr; two nieces, Megan Boone and April Wright; three great-nieces, Reagan Elizabeth, Harmony and Brintley; a great-nephew, Logan; and a host of close friends, who were family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday Sept. 28 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverends Mike Warren and Nathan Colwell officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be selected friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Sept. 27 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
