Obituary for Clarence Junior (Chubby) Dudley Clarence Junior (Chubby) Dudley
USPS Retiree Was Contractor, Iron Gate Volunteer Fire Department Member

Clarence Junior (Chubby) Dudley, age 80, of 813 Alleghany Avenue, Eagle Rock, Virginia died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

He was born August 10, 1936 in Rockbridge County to the late Owen Ira and Lelia Mae Hickman Dudley.

He was a contractor, and also a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over forty years.

He was a former member of the Iron Gate Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Deeds and Stella Dudley, and two brothers, James Dudley and Ray Dudley.

He is survived by two sisters, Esther Clark, and husband Fred, and Lucy Dudley, both of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Glen Dudley and wife, Joan of Eagle Rock, and Oler Dudley, Sr. of Selma; a number of nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Reverend W. Pembroke Hall officiating.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements.
