Covington Native Was Fisher Auto Parts Retiree

Margaret Rebecca Grady Hiner, age 80, of 155 Mount Beulah Road, Glen Wilton, Virginia died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was born June 19, 1936 in Covington to the late Joseph Floyd Grady and Mary Louise Wilhelm Grady.

She retired from Fisher Auto Parts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Owens Gray Hiner, Sr.; a daughter, Jessica Lutz; two brothers, Bobby Grady and Frank Grady; a sister, Patsy Campbell; and a granddaughter, Virginia Lutz.

She is survived by a son, Ernest "Buddy" Shorter, Jr. and wife, Mary of Iron Gate; a sister, Carolyn Thomas and husband, Willy of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Carol Grady; a brother-in-law, Jerry Campbell; twelve grandchildren, Tina Lutz-Bayne and companion, Henry, David Lutz and wife, Jennifer, Amanda Kishpaugh and husband, Ronnie, Cora Smith and companion, Frank, Marcus Smith, Jacob Lutz, Nathan Lutz, Cassie Lutz and companion, James, Brian Shorter and wif,e Diana, Lori Windle and husband, Mark, Stephanie Boggs and husband, Jamie, and Jeremy Shorter and wife, Mandy; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating.

Interment will follow in Iron Gate Community Cemetery, Iron Gate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
