Obituary for Thomas W. (Tom) Maydian Thomas W. (Tom) Maydian
For Westvaco Millwright Was Air Force Veteran

Thomas W. (Tom) Maydian, age 76 of 2534 Kight Lane, Bonifay, Florida and formerly of Covington, Virginia passed away at his residence in Bonifay, Florida on Sunday October 23, 2016.

Tom served over twenty years in the United States Air Force as a Master Sargent and served three tours in Vietnam with many commendations.

He was an active member of the VFW, American Legion and the DAV.

He retired from Travis Air Force Base in California and went on to work and retire from Westvaco, where he was employed as a millwright. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was also a 32nd degree Master Mason with the Wausau lodge #39, a Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in the Valley of American Military, Orient of NATO Bases, and a member of the Shaddai Shriners of Panama City, Florida for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis "Beans" and Anita Maydian of Selma, Va.

Tom is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Georgina "Yvonne’" Maydian. Tom is also survived by his five loving children. Son, Warren of NC and daughter-in-law, Sandra Maydian of Covington, Va.; daughter, Tracey and husband, Bruce Leach of Sharon, Va. Son, Thomas W. and wife, Sandra Maydian of Texas. son, Curtis S. and wife, Sarah Maydian of Eagle Rock, Va.; son, Dale B. and wife, Lisa Maydian of Daleville, VA.

Tom is also survived by his two sisters, Sandra Kay and husband, Mike of Clifton Forge, VA and Barbara and husband, Richard Lohr of Ridgeway, Va. Tom also has thirteen grandchildren who he loved dearly which include Waylon Maydian, Threy Leach, Rhawny Leach, Asheby Leach, Kimberly Maydian, Cierra Maydian, Cassidy Maydian, Matthew Maydian, Kaci Maydian, Trevor Maydian, Branden Maydian, Cole Maydian, and Kelsi Maydian.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Mr. James David Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Graveside military rites will be conducted by members of the Curtis A. Smith VFW Post 1033. Pallbearers will be Tom Maydian II, Curtis Maydian, Dale Maydian, Bruce Leach, Brance Terry, Waylon Maydian, Mathew Maydian, and Charles Meeks. Honorary Pallbearer will be Carver Light.

The Family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
