Obituary for Walter Ferdinand Wright Walter Ferdinand Wright
Korean War Veteran Worked With Acadia Polymers, Inc. For 34 Years

Walter Ferdinand Wright, 83, of 607 Wright Road, Covington, Virginia died Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital.

Mr. Wright was born May 12, 1933 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Leslie and Margie Lee Wright.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Emmett Wright, Gordon Wright, Lonnie Wright, Glen Wright, Richter Wright, Denton Wright and Leonard Wright, and four sisters, Edna Sprague, Madeline Adler, Stella Mae Wright and Mary Ethel Wright.

He was a veteran of the Korean War with the U. S. Army. He retired in 1990 from Acadia Polymers, Inc. after 34 years with the company.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Jackalean Wheeler Wright, of Covington; five sons, Leslie Stuart Wright and wife, Morrisa, Robert Wright and wife, Lauren, Marlon Wright, and Albert Wright, all of Covington, and Roy Lee Wright and Cozette Whalen of Grant, Iowa; two brothers, Abraham Wright and Joseph Wright, both of Covington; two sisters, Helen Fitzgerald of Staunton and Agnes Thomas of Grottoes; six grandsons, Dustin Wright, Zachary Wright and Bryan Wright, all of Covington; Zeffrem Wright of Fort Lee; Haden Stephen Wright of South Carolina and Jamien Cole of Bath County; three granddaughters, Leslie Wright-Reyes of Covington, Casey Wright of Tennessee and Jackie Wright of Iowa; three step-grandsons, Lee Abbott of Fort Riley, Kansas, Kris Abbott and Josh Haynes both of Covington; four great grandchildren, Gavin Reyes, Jaelene Reyes, Allianna Wright and D.J. Wright; a host of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Wanda Fridley of Covington.

In accordance with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service may be held at a later date.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia is handling the arrangements.
