Melanie Grace Baker Sammons, age 28, of Cliftondale Village, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor, Virginia.

She was born December 7, 1987 in Roanoke, Virginia, to Melvin Eugene and Sandra Surface Baker.

She attended Lone Star Advent Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Steven James Sammons, of Clifton Forge; her mother, Sandy Baker, of Selma; her father, Melvin Baker, of North Carolina; two daughters, Carleigh Faith Sammons and Shayna Naomi Grace Sammons; two sons, Steven Eugene Sammons and Charles Jeffery Sammons, all of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Breann Nicole Davenport, of Washington, D.C., Shae Destiney Smith, of Covington, and Kyla Crosier, of Covington; two brothers, Christopher Skidmore, of Roanoke and Benny Baker, of Covington; a grandmother, Naomi Baker, of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Doug Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Steven James Sammons, Joe Sammons, Gerald Sammons, Dwayne Burns, Pat Higgins, James Broughman, Chad Richardson, and Nathan Conlin.

The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
