Mrs. Joan Mae Hyler Reynolds Nicely, age 79, of 1008 McCormick Boulevard, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, December 23, 2016 at her residence.

She was born April 15, 1937 in Clifton Forge to the late Sin Wilson Hyler and Zela Catherine Caldwell.

She was a teacher's aide in the school system, was good to everyone and everyone called her mom.

She was proceeded in death by one son, Delbert Dale Reynolds and a brother, Lew F. "Dit" Hyler.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Burns and husband, Harvey "Boo"; two sons, Daryl "Squirrel" Reynolds and Edward Reynolds and wife, Sue, all of Clifton Forge, Virginia; seven step children; a brother, Glenn Hyler and wife, Betty of Clifton Forge; five grandchildren, Leigh Ann Reynolds, Amy Tingler, Heather Reynolds, Nicole Burns and Amber Burns; eight great grandchildren; a great great grandchild and another one on the way; a number of nieces and nephews and a close friend, Betty Hyler.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Gordon Hammond and Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Pallbearers will be Rick Ballou, Bruce Hyler, Mark Spangler, Tommy Hyler, Herbie Sams and Dewayne Burns.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Clifton Forge, Virginia.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
