Bath County Resident Dies At Age 83

Stella Merle Waugh Burns, 83, of Bacova, Virginia died Friday, December 23, 2016 at her home.

She was born October 30, 1933 in Minnehaha Springs, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lonnie Waugh and Matilda Brown Rucker Waugh.

Stella was a lifelong homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Burns of Bacova, Patty Clark and husband, Steve of Covington, Wayne Burns and companion, Julie Meadows of West Warm Springs; grandchildren, Michael Brett Clark and fiance, Stephanie Pritt of Hot Springs, Stephen DeWitt Clark and wife, Brittani of Lexington, Cameron Wayne Burns of West Warm Springs; great grandchildren, Brinsley Clark of Lexington, Cheyenne Pritt of Hot Springs; sister, Annie Jenkins of Low Moor; special friend Melissa Burns, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Darrell Burns, who preceded her on October 11, 1981, an infant daughter and 10 brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Burnsville Cemetery with Pastor David George officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burnsville Cemetery Fund. The McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home, Hot Springs, is in charge of arrangements.
