Roanoke Native Was Retired ARH Medical Transcriptionist

Carol Lynne Bell Ramsey, age 72, of 1401 Jackson Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, December 30, 2016 at her home.

She was born December 10, 1944 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Sharon Arnold and Myrtle Ruth Snow Bell.

Carol was a retired medical transcriptionist for Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She loved the arts, playing the piano, writing, and painting. She also loved nature.

She is survived by a daughter, Leigh Ramsey and husband, Randall Woods of Roanoke; a son, Jason Ramsey of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, McKinley Pollard, Samuel Pollard, and Connor Woods; a sister, Brenda George and husband, Dewey of Fairfax Station; two brothers, Richard Bell and wife, Barbara of Richmond, and Beverly Alan Bell and wife, Pat of Olatha, KS; and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Clifton Forge Police Department for their kindness and efforts.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of donations in her memory to the Clifton Forge School of the Arts, 518 Church Street, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling the arrangements.
