Obituary for Frances O'Connor Armentrout Frances O'Connor Armentrout
Local Daycare Cook Enjoyed Music, Singing

Frances O_Connor Armentrout, 91, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Covington, Virginia on August 19, 1925 to the late Charles Walter O'Connor and Lelia Morris O'Connor.

Frances was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her life raising her children and grandchildren and working at a local daycare as a cook. Frances was a baby sitter for many children and loved them as if they were her own. All of Frances' grandchildren knew and loved her as "Mammaw" and "Maw-Trout".

Frances enjoyed music and singing and had the voice of an angel. Her smile could light up a room and she had a gentle kindness about her that always made you feel at ease. Frances' heart was filled with love for God and her family and friends.

Mrs. Armentrout was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Armentrout, Sr.; infant daughters, Elizabeth and Reba Armentrout; grandsons, Ethan Braswell and Kevin Paxton; 3 sisters and 9 brothers, making her the last of Charles and Lelia's children. She is survived by her children, Emma Wright and husband, Parker of Covington, VA; Brenda Paxton and husband, Wendell of Covington, VA; Wanda Bell and husband, Rodney; Frankie Armentrout and wife, Shirley; Shelby Braswell and husband, Dean; Carol Stamey and husband, Grayson; grandchildren: Terry Whitby, Brian Wright, Todd Paxton, Lewis Armentrout, III, Aaron Armentrout, Lisa Weaver, Steven Bell, Nathaniel Braswell, Arron Braswell, Brittney Woods, and Emily Gilbert; 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; one of her special caregivers, Austin Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Hoke Chapel Cemetery with Rev. David Brown officiating.

Those wishing to view Mrs. Armentrout may stop by Loving Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
