Scott Allen Thompson, 46, of 6088 Indian Draft Road, Covington, Virginia died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was born July 17, 1969 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, the son of Gary Allen Thompson and the late Diane Lynn Conner Vest.

Mr. Thompson was employed as the Assistant Manager of the Ingalls Field Airport in Hot Springs prior to his illness.

He loved horses and enjoyed farming, fishing and the outdoors. He was a loving son, husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Kaye Bennett Thompson of Covington; two children, Anthony Porter Thompson and Kailey Rae Thompson, both of Covington; his father and step-mother, Gary and Paula Thompson; his mother-in-law, Violet Bennett of Clifton Forge, Virginia; his aunt, Carol Sue Seum and husband, Jack of Arlington, Virginia; two cousins, Eric and Kristin Seum of Arlington; and numerous other cousins.

The McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home, Hot Springs, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
