Lighthouse Apostolic Church Member Was Former Alleghany Country Club Groundskeeper

Jimmy (Jim) Davis Tinsley, age 68, of 9802 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia died Friday, January 27, 2017 at Lewis Gale Hospital Alleghany.

He was born July 24, 1948 in Rich Patch Mines, Virginia to the late Howard Alvin Tinsley and Clinie Bell Kitt Tinsley.

He was a member of the Lighthouse Apostolic Church and retired as a groundskeeper for Alleghany Country Club for over 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a son, Jimmy Davis Clark and three sisters: Carolyn Dunbar, Virginia Smith and Dreama Buzzard.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Melissa Clark of Low Moor; a step daughter, Anna Tucker and husband, Christopher of Covington; a sister, Victoria Broughman and significant other, Richard Tingler; three brothers, Roger Dale Tinsley and wife, Mary of Low Moor, Howard Tinsley and wife, Rosetta of Blue Spring Run, and Ricky Tinsley and wife, Teresa of Low Moor; a brother in law, Jerry Buzzard of Selma; a grandson, James Austin Clark and wife, Jessica; five step grandchildren, Eva Grace Tucker, Faith Tucker, Christian Tucker, Hope Page, and Nicole Brookman; a great grandson, Conner Clark; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Pastor Gordon Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery, Low Moor.

Pallbearers will be Billy Broughman, Cody Prior, Brandon Prior, Wesley Elmore, Charlie Dunbar, Aaron Thompson, Collen Aldridge, and William Woods.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
